Yeah, who is "we"? No effort to introduce himself, what he's doing in this thread, last post 2016. Looks like total copy/paste spam jammed into anything that might look superficially relevant.

Yep, lifted word for word from
https://www.engadget.com/2005/09/06/how ... intosh-g4/
Quote:
We decided on a choice that does not require thermal paste and has a larger new heat sink and fan included: the PowerLogix PowerForce47 G4/2.0GHz with 512K 1:1 L2 Cache Per Processor. (note: we were not remunerated by Powerlogix nor did we receive free merchandise for this how-to nor is this article a review of comparable mac proc upgrades). After some trials and tribulations with the processor upgrade, we simply wanted to put this information out there to help who it may, after all we never enjoy seeing macs in the trash.

Spammer must have any number of plagiarized off the shelf clips ready to go for various keywords. Here it's "g4"

What's the IP?

The simple joys of the spammer's life . . . the internet is filled with infinite data, to be passed around . . . a "sharing" of a kind. :badteeth:

I have been thinking about getting back to "fixing" my G4 lately . . . latest diagnosis is "power supply" . . . which is over on the "Zombie" thread as the old G4 revives for brief runs and then again dies . . . already did a cpu upgrade, so it won't be on this thread . . . whenever I have a moment to search eBay, etc. :coffee:

eep

I **knew** it . . . spamming by space aliens . . . it has begun . . . tooling up for 2020 . . . creating concern and disruption in the Force wherever possible . . . distortion of the spatial fabric itself to bring . . . spam . . . . I "sensed" the distortion in that post . . . it just felt like "spam" . . . but seems like it was so much more than that . . . . :classic-eek: :emphatic-eek: :p_dog:

Yep . . . they never showed up over there . . . went through the "worm hole" and came back as "spam" . . . . Maybe there is some cosmic communication embedded in the post?? Seems like it . . . "this message came from nothingness . . . no where . . . yet 'arrived' . . . before . . . returning to the place where it emanated therefrom . . . " :coffee: :ugeek:  :o 8-)  :?:

Ya know... it all might have to do with the Magnetic North Pole moving at an unexpected rate towards Siberia!

It's always about "the unexpected" . . . movements . . . that open portals that invite space alien "interventions" such as what we witnessed in this thread . . . wowza!!! Life is "strange" and "beautiful" in every tiny "unexpected" shift . . . .

That's the company who the IP is assigned to. That company maintains an abuse helpdesk. More than likely they have multiple customers, one or more of whom is likely an internet cafe who these guys like to frequent because there's a lot of them around so they can flutter from cafe to cafe to cafe and trigger abuse notifications as they go yet never stay long enough to actually get caught and banned from a cafe.

At least I think that's how it still works, my information is about 10 years old so cafes may have dried up.

You might want to edit all the posts in this thread as G4s aren't that good in Outer Space... you need a G3...

Opportunity's onboard computer used a 20 MHz RAD6000 CPU with 128 MB of DRAM, 3 MB of EEPROM, and 256 MB of flash memory.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opportunity_(rover)#Design_and_construction

Reported to have a unit cost somewhere between US$200,000 and US$300,000, RAD6000 computers were released for sale in the general commercial market in 1996.
The RAD6000's successor is the RAD750 processor, based on IBM's PowerPC 750.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_RAD6000

G3s are the only CPUs to leave our Solar System! Have an unopened 600 MHz G3 for Beiges if you're planning interstellar travel! :)

I do "have" a G3 iBook that the Lubuntu User group donated to me to try to install Lubuntu on it . . . but the HD was DOA . . . so it's just waiting . . . maybe Space X could use it for the trip to Knowledge City???

I wouldn't want those rich enough to afford the first trips on Space-X to be guided by anything other than a G3 iBook with a DOA HDD! :)

Those radiation hardened CPUs are a trip if you ever look into their manufacturing.

One of the tricks they use is to move back to older lithographic methods for etching the CPUs, though the materials involved are different and that probably has something to do with using thicker traces.
