Coolness factor = 10. I never was able to get any pre-G3 Macs running any OSX versions. Image Your Power Tower Pro must be a nice Mac legacy gaming system.

I tried getting X on the pm 6110; but nubus macs were never supported. Some versions of yellow dug ppc linux run on it; but 9.2.2 runs best and it rock solid.

Xpostofacto OWC app is great; been using it since the first betas; PTP runs X as fast as any beige G3; maybe faster.

Those 6100's were great overclockers. I manage to get one to 100 Mhz stable on air cooling. It took a new heat sink, fan, and good thermal compound along with a variable oscillator. I would have gone higher if the oscillator didn't stop at 100 Mhz. I'm pretty sure I could have gone past 110 Mhz or even to 120 Mhz (double its stock speed).

If I was really sadistic, I could have gone straight to 1.06 Ghz. I have a 533 Mhz crystal from a DEC machine and one of those tin-to-ceramic clock crystal adapters.

I miss my PTP 250 with xlr8 Carrier Zif at 500 MHz. 512M of interleaved RAM, and plenty of finger cuts.

I used my PM 6100/60AV up until late 2004. It still works fine. I just don't have a use for it any more. It was mainly used for playing MP3s at night.

Still got an old 8500/180 running here. It has a 500MHz MaxPowr G3 and a Voodoo5. One of these days I need to get myself a new Mac. C'mon Apple, where are those MacBooks with the GMA X3100?!

I thought I'd sorted the posts when I was inserting them. In fact, I even remember doing
Code:
foreach my $post (sort @{$self->{'posts'}}) {

I don't know why ...

actually, now I remember. I didn't sort the posts, but I did have a $last_post variable that ...

hmm...even the last posts aren't right. What the heck?

You know what? I was working on this at like 5am. The posts are here. Is that not enough? lol :P :mrgreen:

I wish that I had kept my PTP 250 -- with XLR8 G3/450 and 512M RAM -- someone got a steal on eBay for $99 years ago.
