I have a Apple bluetooth keyboard that came with an used iMac I boughtI a few years
ago that I don't use, I was checking to see if it functions and it showed up with the previous owners
name in the device list. I was wondering is there a way to get rid of that or will re-pairing the
keyboard to my iMac change that ?
On that same note is there a way to reset the kb to factory setting ( no computer name ) ?

Thanks Ella! Thing is I also want to "purge" the info on the keyboard. If not it will show up with the ID name from when it was originally setup.

I want it so it sees the pairing as it's first(new name,etc..)

Make sure that your keyboard is connected. Then shift-option-click the Bluetooth icon in your menu bar, scroll down to the keyboard in question, and click "Factory Reset". This should reset your keyboard to brand new.

Thanks BD, I saw that post while searching, I should have mentioned I'm running Snow Leopard
not Mavericks, the trick works but there is no "factory reset" choice .

Nevermind :)
I can do it on my mac mini
