OK so this EU GDPR crap suddenly started bombarding me with EVERY forum action I attempt (click on subforum, get EU GDRP notice. Click on thread, get EU GDRP notice. Post in thread, get EU GDRP notice. Etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. It wasn’t doing this the past week. Just started seeing this today. Kinda super-annoying-assed that it bombards me like this.

You could try resetting the browser (clearing cache, history, cookies, etc.) and then closing and reopening it. It worked for me when that was happening, but I didn't have to do any clearing because I setup my browsers to do that automagically when closed.

The message only appears when the GDPR consent cookie can't be read. I'd try deleting cookies, then make sure they can be set by this site. When prompted make sure you choose "OK" not "cancel" when asked for the choice. Some browsers may not do the right thing in "private browsing" mode.

Confused of England writes;

I registered from a UK ISP (2019) and had no problem.

Am I missing something?

edit: to be honest I'm half watching Suicide Squad and not really reading too closely all of this Thread.

We may have fixed it.

Aye.

Fixed it seems.

The film was less successful.

The girl with the baseball bat being the only watchable bit.

Oh, when you were talking 'bout Suicide Squad, I thought it was a offhand reference to Brexit! :fishsmack:

No, it was the film.

I'm keeping the Brexit / EU stuff on the comedy Forum.

From our privacy policy:
Quote:
This site shall not be accessed by residents or citizens of the European Union due to GDPR requirements that this site, and probably any non-trivial site, especially one that allows user-posted content, are technically impossible to meet. If you are in the EU, do not continue browsing this site.

Given our site policies, we just assume that any user who claims to be from the EU is probably just an embarrassed American.

Just to be on the safe side, any user who reports us to their country's GDPR enforcement division for some technical violation shall face felony prosecution in the United States for violation of the similarly absurd overreach of the US Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, on account of violating our terms of service. We're cautiously optimistic this will result in an uneasy Cold War like truce.

In reality, at worst your browser will lose the cookies that say you've agreed to accept cookies and that you understand that this site may run roughshod over your GDPR rights, which will result in endless popups warning you of these things. If that happens, it's not by design from our end. It's just that your cookies are messed up. Try quitting and reopening your browser.

Of course we should make an exception from people from the UK, given the awkward present circumstances.

I haven't a clue what all that means.

I'm just here for the Slapping Fish emoticons.

Hm, what is my status then? I have a Schengen area passport, but am planning to apply citizenship of Thailand, and have not seen Europe for 7.5 years? My name is also not 'Kim Dotcom'. Is my story told in MIB4? Damn oppressive Anonymous government rules, can't follow them while drunk.
