No personal experience with it, but you might look into Jitterbug.

You might also want to look into a headset, particularly the in-ear kind, since they can more effectively isolate the sound in your ear.

That being said Jitterbug is a good option, they target older people with features like larger buttons and louder speakers. No offense intended, but that's genuinely their market.

Whew, trying to research jitterbug isn't working out... website comes in apparently with what I want & quickly gets covered with another page of "things you weren't looking for here" :)

Grrrrr, just call if you need help, LOL, or find a store, but no info on rates, specs of the phones or what have you.

Is this any help? (am running NoScript on FF)

https://www.jitterbugdirect.com/
https://www.jitterbugdirect.com/plans.aspx
costing $15 to $20 a month plans.

I see the phones themselves are about $60 on Amazon. This seems reasonable.

scroll down to page 82 below,
tells how to enter ascii etc. A little convoluted compared to a normal phone but it seems possible.

Yeah, thieves and criminals have made the simple very complicated.

They want a phone number so they can track you down in the event you place the order with a stolen credit card or similarly illegal funds that result in the money being reversed.

For complicated passwords maybe keep them as a note and then copy paste as needed.

Thanks Terry, but its dumb phone, only thinking of trying it because it has real physical buttons, speakerphone & supposedly a much louder ringer.

BD, I just got off the phone with cust svc at greatcall (800-733-6632).Spoke to a very helpful rep., who guided me through the steps online to buy a phone and a plan. At greatcall.com, where you can decide what type of phone and plan to buy, I went through all the steps, entering completely hypothetical choices. Got to the check out page, which asks for a phone no. He told me that you can enter a completely phony phone no., so long as the area code agrees with your address (253/206?) It doesn't need to be a real working phone no. and has nothing to do with the credit card info you enter.

Bottom line, provided what he told me is correct, you can buy a phone + plan there without already having a mobile or landline.

Great to hear that the order went through and it's on its way. Pretty soon you'll be able to phone in an order of pepperoni pizza! :coffee:

Still no phone, no reply to the form email sent on their site 2 days ago, no reply to the regular emil to customer support (customerservice@greatcall.com) that I sent yesterday. :(

Can somebody call 800-733-6632 & ask if anybody monitors their eMail?

Was just getting ready to make that call. But what's "UOS with 3+14 No Accerss Construction Vehicle???" Sounds like an exotic delivery. Good luck with the phone. Hope it's what works for you.
