My iPad 4th get is getting very old. I was in the Apple store and played with the big iPad pro and was very impressed with the power and gorgeous screen so I am thinking about buying one. Anybody get one and what do you think of it. I plan to use it to edit photos for social media and making 4 k vids shot with my iphone 7 plus using iMovie. Just fun family and travel stuff nothing serious. Kind of wondering if the larger size gets a little cumbersome.

It's a rough call-

You will get tired if you're actually holding it all the time. However, if you have the Smart Keyboard or a case / stand where you're NOT holding it, the real estate is great to have.

Also, if you have eyes that aren't what they used to be...

My GF has the smaller Pro, there is a sizable difference. I would think that working on photos you will appreciate the larger screen.

The Smart Keyboard has been a worthwhile add-on, even with photo stuff you may have keyboard shortcuts. Keep in mind that it is not protection for the iPad.

If you add a real protective case it gets bulky quick.

Good points. I never use a case but my screen is all cracked up from dropping it so I was going to get a case for the new one just to protect it.

Ha! Then you should consider a very protective case.

If you won't be supporting the whole weight of the iPad most of the time then you might consider the bigger one. However, it will be over a pound with a case and holding it for long amounts of time will add up. I know a pound doesn't SOUND like a lot but holding it at viewing distance unsupported will get old quick.

Whatever you do, get a solid case!

You'll love it, the new Pro models have beautiful screens which will really show off photos.

I will buy it and see what I think about it before buying the case. Thank you :)

I love my Griffin Survivor iPad case but it's really massive. One busy bleary morning I left it on the roof of my car and drove off, saw it in the rearview mirror in a 40mph zone, pulled over, picked it up, iPad was fine. The plastic frame inside all that rubber had some cracks. Replaced that case with one I'm still using today.

Weirdly the best iPad stand I've found is the Amazon Basics ($12-ish) iPad stand. It has adjustable legs and one adjustment point fits the notches in the case. For a time I had a stand that lifted it further up off the desk on an arm with a heavily weighted base but the weight of the case+iPad made the base not quite heavy enough to resist more than gentle touching.

My iPad 12.9" 256 gigs memory is arriving Friday. My Apple pen came in today. Kind of thought that was funny because so many were complaining when the pen was first announced but wasn't available until well after the iPad Pro hit the streets.

When it gets here I will buy Affinity Pro for photos editing and Lumafusion for video editing. $40 for the two not bad for high end software.

Nice, I'm not into photography anymore but do share your experiences.

Anyone there into drawing? I feel like I'm not using my Pro to its fullest extent because I'm not an artist.

I did get the Smart Keyboard thinking I wouldn't use it much. It has been on my iPad pro everyday since I bought it. So I was wrong there.

Really like how easy it was to set up this new iPad. Just held my iPhone 7 Plus next to it and boom everything was transferred over. Apple cloud, WiFi all of it. Just had to enter my phones pass code. Very nice
