First, what in Beelzebub's name is the purpose of showing you random videos endlessly? :bonk:

Particularly in Brave Browser is there away to stop it, I went to google prefs & turn off Auto, but I imagine you have to be logged into google for it towork.

There must be a way to stop this.

I use
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... y-no-more/
and
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... r-youtube/

in Firefox. Not sure if they'll work in Brave or not.

Thanks MB they seem to work a treat in Waterfox, but no idea if all this yellow is related or how to get rid of it...

The second is just to block ads, but weirdly when I installed the first on my system at work alone it didn't work. Might be a configuration issue.

The 1st one stopped additional Youtube videos but didn't stop the google ads that are included at the end of the video, the 2nd one stopped that. Thanks. :)

I've solved the problem by avoiding YouTube, but yes, at one time there was a Firefox addon that took care of it, or as I called it "the best Firefox addon ever in the history of everything."

I should figure out how to write addons and make my own, in my copious free time...

Unfortunately they changed how the feature worked and broke that extension.

I'd love to avoid Youtube, but many times people can't explain anything with a few simple words, they need a GB Video! :bonk:

Its because they used to get paid for views of their videos but of course Google decided that only corporations deserve money and demonetized 90% of the content.

The length of the video actually counted because shorter videos got less money than longer videos yada yada yada everyone padded out their content as much as possible making a simple little trick very painful to find out.

Ah, I was thinking it was more the cultural thing, some customers couldn't be bothered to remember words like Angelfish, or Zebra, or Swordtail... they needed me to ignore everything & everybody else wilst they swiped their phone or tablet forward, backward, sideways, upside down, portrait, landscape, for a picture or a video... rinse & repeat... wait, wait, wait I'm just about to find it, I have no idea what kind of fish it is, but I bought it here a couple of years ago so you should know!

Ask them why they didn't keep track of it if it's so easy. :D

brave://settings/content/autoplay

add [*.]youtube.com to the blocklist

Shift-Cmd-R to force reload settings page.

That's about the only thing that stays set for
a while.

Thanks, I did have that added.

As I recall that didn't stop the ads that were included/appended to the video.

I use uBlock Origin with Waterfox and I never see a single YouTube ad, or ads from pretty much anywhere else for that matter.

uBlock seems to be browser based, most of the youtube content I tend to watch in their app on my ipad.
