Yeah I get so goddamn annoyed with people at work and their lackadaisical approach to physical security. I've ended up resorting to jury-rigging doors that need to be kept locked so they can't be left unlocked due to individuals who are too disorganized to keep their keys on them who nevertheless need to access restricted areas.

Without physical security of your hardware there's no security.

Let me guess, since uneducated idiots wouldn't have to access restricted areas, these must be educated idiots!?

My workplace is an odd duck since the teachers are all people who are actually working in the fields they're teaching about, and since we're not an IT school none of them are particularly fluent in IT.

Before I came on board they running everything like a bunch of garage-based startups.

Basically professional video operations... scripting, storyboarding, shooting, editing, publishing, and other things I can't think of because yesterday at this time I was sleeping. (yawn) And that's just one of the programs.

Some of them work for larger companies but most are used to doing it all themselves freelance so things like access restrictions aren't part of their day to day lives.
