Ever since trying to buy a video card on eBay I've gotten spam everyday, even though I've unsubscribed & have unchecked & turned off all communications I could find.

I may be saying solved too soon, but I think I've done it...

Your Email Address Has Been Confirmed

Effective immediately, your email address with eBay is:

bdaqua@getnada.com

Looks like that's my bad by giving seller your email address, in case needed. Think I'll try to report that. Is the spam coming only from the seller, or ebay overall?

No it wasn't you, after I got the card & could go to eBay, I tried signing into my ancient eBay account, could not somehow ended up making a new account.

The eMails are not from the seller, they are eBay, announcing special deals on toys, ranging from $s to $1,000s.

Maybe your email address in "message to seller" was passed on somehow to ebay in general? I never see this kind of junk, and, naturally they have my email address.

Maybe in your "My eBay"

And then under Subscriptions/Promotions, I have nothing checked, especially General email promotions, "Send me emails about what's new and hot on eBay, great deals, special events, discount coupons and other special offers."

In setting up the new account I gave them my addy, I checked all those setting shown & none were active, unsubscribing didn't work several times... I really think I have it cured now.

Oh yes, card is great, doing fine, actually now I remember, I got the new eBay account in the hopes of leaving feedback on the card... probably could not, but maybe I could eMail the seller.

Did you pay for super extra fast delivery, if not the the seller needs a 10 star rating. :)

Change email contact here?

https://www.ebay.com/help/account/chang ... ls?id=4200

Otherwise, could these spam emails be phishing? Do they ask for login details?

The bulk of those appear to be computer related. Maybe it was the seller to whom I gave your email address (in "message to seller") who was responsible after all. Or maybe ebay scans those messages for addresses, and then sends spam according to the type of listing?

Spam doesn't appear to correlate with the seller's store.

Could it be based on this:

https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/li ... nager.html

marketing.ebay.com doesn't go anywhere. Getting "sorry, something went wrong."

Not sure if you're still using apple mail, but until a real solution arrives, what about setting a rule to move anything marketing.ebay.com to junk?

Yeah, I could do that, but I detest them using up my paltry Data limit. Getting more than one every 24 hours.

WOW, impressive, I'll see if it still downloads the spam. Thanks, never knew about this!

The more I think about it, it may be some associate sales person or outfit, eBay seems too big to bot honor unsubscribe, and they only sent the eMail change verification ti the new fake addy!

just need the "fake" email addy to see the eMails, no signing in or password used.

I suppose it could be a security issue since you could guess somebody@nada.com, but they'd only get spam or be able to spam the spammers with your fake email. ;)
