A GB used for 3 tabs is ridiculous, how can I find out what is doing it or what I can disable, even Apple's bloated ASC site use 50 to 100 MB per tab!

What browser? Would NoScript selecting minimal scripts + maybe uBlockOrigin with FF or Waterfox reduce the bloat?

Thanks, I'll try those, these were in Safari, but FF was about the same.

You typically have to disable µBlock Origin when visiting either Target or Walmart or their searches won't work properly. That leaves a TON of stuff loaded. Also, if the pages have ANY media loads, Safari loads them into RAM even if they don't display (cosmetically blocked). Safari is the only browser that does that, by the way. The rest actually block media if made to do so or an addon blocks it.

Also, you think that's bad? Try this on for size. It's one thread in one tab.

Edit: Why is it that none of my pics ever show up in the post anymore as other than a download link? That gets super annoying.

To be displayed inline there was a limit of 800*600, I raised it now to 1024-768...

Heh. Even with 1024x768 as a limitation I'll almost never be ablel to post a pic. Most of mine are native res, which is 1080p. Only ones smaller than that are the few that I do with CMD-Shift-4 to manually crop at the source. ^_^

I usually open up whatever I'm posting and adjust the resolution down.

ST, 1024 wide may even require scrolling sideways to view, the board allows far higher rez, but as an attachment that people can choose to view or not thinking if people are viewing on small screens it could be a pain.

I use postimage.org, thumbnail for message boards/forums whenever I think it may not work out very well here, which is tather often. A little small until clicked on to get to the original, but better than just seeing "attachment."

I see your attachments, which are a nice size, and not the usual attachment link, posted as gifs. How do you do that?

Because the pic is 893*350 pixels, as shown in the picFrom GC's Show pic info, it's under the new raised limit to display the pic directly, of 1024*768, before it was 800*600, a pic of 801*500 would only go as an attachment.

That's the one feature this forum software lacks - thumbnail implementation. That'd eliminate the need for arbitrary size limitations since the full pic would only be shown natively when clicking on it (i.e. the user manually looks at it). Not any kind of deal breaker though. Just have to learn to work within its limitations now that I know what they are.
