As I've done many times before, several days ago, I updated both the NPAPI and PPAPI Adobe Flash Player browser plugins. After the updates were finished, I ejected each of the two disk images by clicking its Eject icon in an open Finder window.

Then, this morning, I installed the latest update for Disk Warrior. When I launched DW (just to ensure the update "took"), it showed one of the two Flash Player plugins disk images still mounted, yet it was not visible in any open Finder windows. I had to use Disk Utility to eject the disk image.

Is this a common occasional glitch (I'd never experienced it before) or could it be the sign of some hinky behavior?

Flash includes an automatic update system that mounts images much the same way. The only way I've been able to coax them to show up on the desktop is to log out and log back in, then they'll show up. Usually its me logging in as a different user (standard account to admin account) for other reasons but they do pop up.

I wonder if these images were leftover from earlier updates?

I don't think that's the case, as I'm pretty sure I'd used Disk Utility after the previous Flash update and didn't see anything unusual.

But thanks for that info. I'll remember to check for that next time I update Flash.
