It was also interesting trying to browse the web in Internet Explorer 5, which doesn't support server name indication for TLS, and which doesn't support any ciphers nor hashing methods in common with any properly configured HTTPS web server on the planet. I was, however, able to use the insecure HTTP version of Google to search for things that I couldn't subsequently connect to. In the end I transferred the files by placing them on a web server running locally on a 2016 MacBook Pro with OS X 10.13.

Interestingly, the computer had last been used on the web exactly 17 years earlier.

The PowerBook happily connected at 10Mb to my gigabit Ethernet network. God bless Ethernet!
