Hi all,
Well after baking my G5 dual (with all your help and assistance THX), and its up and running, I thought I might get your thoughts on baking my mac powerbook g4. Its an oldie, but i have some uses for it, if i can resurrect it!
Here's some considerations:
I had the vid problem that displayed the colored squares, so i had it reflowed (i think, not sure if they just did the heat gun on the vid part or a full bake or what).
One RAM slot doesnt work. (happened after the video repair)
The HD is toasted, so Id need to buy another drive for it.
Otherwise it would do what i need: Run an old version of ProTools and some other junk.
So, send me your thoughts if it would be worth trying!!!

best to all! :)
(hey, AND thanks for helping with the g5 quad, its been super! knock on wood!)

Other than the bad RAM slot, how's it running? Does it still have the video issue?

I booted from an ext HD, it ran fine. The screen is a bit dark, doesnt have the vid issue. I did wonder if baking would fix the ram slot issue.. I know I've seen fixes that apply pressure to the solder joints. This makes me think its the same problem as the vid card. (and the proc.'s on the G5)
thanks!

Seems worth a try & about the same issue as the G5s.

Which exact PB is it?

I think ASD 2.5.8 only works on 2004/early 2005 PBs, 1.33 GHz & up...

PowerBook G4 (2003 Late 15-inch FW800) 2.1.5
