Yup, which is probably due to them having put all that effort into resize operations.

Well, then 12 really is "better" . . . in that respect. Still, I get that there is a touch of complexity to the "resize" of existing partitions . . . but, it is something that GParted does fast and wheezelessly in an install . . . .
Speaking of idle questions, I was going to format the new 45 GB partition to something other than OSX journaled, etc, but, no choice for "free space" as there used to be. I remember that I did this a few months ago, but in 12 there was no explanation of "exFAT" V "msDOS" . . . there was something about the partition size factoring into that . . . it just has to be one of something that linux can recognize as "available" . . . which I then turn into "ext4" . . . format.
