I have a G4 B/W desktop PPC with OS X 10.4.11. Ever since Dopbox discontinued its support for for this Operating system, I receive a notification suggesting that I should upgrade the Application anytime I launch my Firefox Browsr. Since it is not possible, is there any way that I can stop the notification?

PS. Things are still going backwards here. :(

Someone modified the PPC client so it works again. Though you will need to trust that the individual didn't have a nefarious goal in mind.

I've been using it at home for a month or two, and it seems to work OK. If you read that thread it's kind of a cat and mouse game with DropBox locking them out at one or two points, only to change the client again to regain access.

B,
Have gone to TenFourFox Preferences and found no Manage Add ons.
Below is Preference Tabs
Attachment:
TenFourFox Prefs.tiff
TenFourFox Prefs.tiff [ 19.74 KiB | Viewed 1113 times ]

I cheked the contents in each of the tabs and there was no mention of Manage Add ons
Did you happen to read that the Dropbox notification also appeared in a blank Finder window in the mail I sent?

Ahhh, that's a different version of TFF than I've seen, perhaps the newer one?

Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this pop-up happens.

B,
Nothing was evident when I brought up Utilities> Console, but here are the results:

The Console Info screen appeared when I selected More info:

At the bottom of the Info was an ownership &Permission tab:

Sorry, I meant double click on Console so it runs & opens a window displaying possible errors, do that just before running TFF.

B,
I am the one who should say, I'm, sorry. Anytime I submit an issue and you respond, I learn so much from you. ;) The attachment you provided looks nothing like mine. In my opinion , my list s fairly long.

The first third of the list looked like this:
Attachment:
Console 1.tiff
Console 1.tiff [ 11.23 KiB | Viewed 1101 times ]

The next third, deals with Dropbox. I could not get all the listing in one attachment, but all information appears the same:
Attachment:
Dropbox.tiff
Dropbox.tiff [ 26.45 KiB | Viewed 1101 times ]

I am not sure ifyou want this, but I am including it:
Attachment:
Console 3.tiff
Console 3.tiff [ 11.41 KiB | Viewed 1101 times ]

I hope this is what you are looking for. I brought up the console data 3 times because my info did not resemble yours and I thought my computer just did not like my double clicks. :bonk:

You can paste the text from console here, highlight the last line line just before opening TFF, open TFF, in Console Shift - click on the new last line, CMD+c to copy, then in a Reply CMD+v to paste.

Your output should look different, mine was just an example of "looks". :)

B,
Having trouble following directions
This is the last Dropbox line just before the top line in Attachment 3:
/Dropbox.app/Contents/Resources/lib/python2.7/lib-dynload

I highlighted the last line but I am confused by this statement:"open TFF, in Console Shift - click on the new last line"

You can select many lines in Console to copy, highlight the top one we want the Shift + click on the last one we want, then CMD+c to copy.

I was thinking we could get any relevant logs by highlighting the last line in Console just before we open TFF, then once you get that Dropbox message Shift + click on the last line in Xonsole, then CMD+c. :)

I should've asked this earlier, do you still want to use theAuto Dropbox function, or would the Web based upload be fine?

B,
Sorry for the delay. I highlighted a Console line for Dropbox and then Shift+ click the last line. Everything between the Console line and the last line highlighted and then I performed a CMD+C to copy.

When I Copied the console and the last line, data lines were added starting with: 9 12:30:48 darrell-coes-powermacg3series mDNSResponder: ERROR: getOptRdata - unknown opt 4. I copied the data lines for time slot12:30:48

That error is from Bonjour, are there newer OSX versions in the network?

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2779667?tstart=0

May not have anything to do with Dropbox???

Does this apply?

No other OS Versions connected to the network. You have a superb memory, remembering an issue you helped with in 2011

I think 2nd option applies

Selecting "I already have an account"produces a window stating that Dropbox is not compatible with my OS

Did you try removing any Dropbox add-ons/extensions?

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove Dropbox Anything.

Spotlight doesn't really cut it for finding these things. :)

Get Find Any File...

http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/

Hold Option or alt key when selecting Find to Find All.

Search for Name Contains Dropbox

Hold alt key or Option key & select find all, look for one ending in .plist

I think you should highlight that dropboxplugin.plugin, not the alias one, the real one & tell us the location shown at the bottom of FindAnyFile's window.
