haha. $800-$1200. They have no idea. Kind of like Captain Picard's Ressikan Flute that Christie's estimated at $300, and sold for $48,000. Even I would have paid up to $1000 for that flute.

Gene Roddenberry's Mac Plus with serial #1 is at the intersection of two avid fan bases. I suspect rtmac and sarahbau will prove correct in their analyses of the discrepancy between the estimated selling price and actual selling price of this item.

I'll add my own: these guys are utterly clueless imbeciles who'd make Finnish timber look clever if they actually think it'll go for just $2K. Wow. No, I mean WOW! I need a cinder block to beat my head against to bleed away any possibility of infection by this level of stupid. Drowned turkeys have greater acumen than this, assuming the auction house was serious and didn't accidentally lop off a few digits. Stabbing myself in the eye with a fork couldn't distract me from the spectacle of this level of dimwittedness. Yea, verily, it shall sell for more than $2000.

Is it not "estimated" so low just to hype it , get tons of dreaming bidders in on it, and jack the price up?

Just as the Leopard pig shoveler does. More importantly, did Anonymous just call me dumb behind all that aluminum?

Naw, Finnish Timber is likely some of the most intelligent Timber on Earth, I think Anon was just comparing them to the brightest Bump on a Log! :)

I think my dad still has our serial number 60 something (sixty-something) Mac 128K machine in his storage unit. But his only claim to fame was his awesome graphic design firm (one of his employees designed the Capri Sun drink-in-a-bag packaging and artwork back in the late 1970s, and another of his employees’ claim to fame was having designed all the “high art” rock concert posters for the Fillmore back in the late 1960s). Yeah, surely you all know him. Make an offer for a couple grand on his 128K!!!

Would you take 2000 (pennies)? Actually, I'm not even sure I'd want to spend that much.

If a really silly prop I built for Conan O'Brien can sell for $7 Grand,
my guess is that Gene Roddenberry's Mac will sell in the neighborhood
of $6 grand.
Any other guesses ?

The Fillmore is also well known for its psychedelic concert posters by artists who in the 1960s included Wes Wilson and Rick Griffin.

Either of those?

Doesn't mean his old Mac is valuable (yet, you never know), but that's pretty interesting. Must have been one awesome graphic design firm. And I'll certainly take a poster.
