Here is a visual listing of Windows® over the years. I forgot how course were the displays of the early versions.
Windows turns 30

Thanks… had a Commodore B-256 with 6509 &888 CPUs, the 8088 could run CPM, MS-Dos & Windows 1., but not Windows 1.1, MS made it impossible to get Windows 1.0 before I could get it. :(

I had a Mac Classic first but later wanted a computer with a colour screen. An Apple was too expensive so I went the cheap route and opted for an IBM compatible. But it had to have some particular software installed called Windows® which the retailer had to order in specially. That was version 3 I think, and it was because of my experience with the Classic, that I found using a mouse indespensible.

This got me to thinking...

I have never owned a Windows® computer.

How often does that happen, or not?

Says here at least 16% of people never had a Windows PC, could be 21%!

Never had one either. Lived with many, though. Nothing but headaches. I remember someone installing Windows XP from floppies repeatedly over an entire weekend before realising that the install disks themselves were the problem. They had a virus and were official Microsoft disks :o

I originally watched this on VHS. Back then myself and a friend were Amiga dorks and laughed at Microsoft's attempts to sell a lousy third rate GUI.
