Solow i got them today thank you so much. Here are a few photos, I took these in a strong wind and the set up was rock solid stable, much better than the wimpy light stand.

These are with the Nikon sc 29 cord and sb 900 flash

That is FANTASTIC! Man, that is a thing I would buy :)

I have one of the adjustable ones, and it works okay, but that looks rock solid.

Glad they are working out for you. They are easy to make if you have a drill press. Drill a 1/2" hole for the umbrella rod. Drill #7 holes for the threaded holes and tap each one with a 1/4-20 tap. Use 1/4-20 set screws for the hot shoe end and knobs with 1/4-20 threads (or short bolts) for the umbrella tightening function. I used 1 inch square aluminum bar stock for the bodies (scrap stuff laying around in this case). Many metal dealers, scrap yards, etc have stuff like this. I also was able to use a bead blaster to make the surface look nice but spray paint would work too. I made 2 for me as well while I was at it. I haven't used them yet though.

Enjoy!

BTW, Terry, those are pretty sharp product shots, too. They're way better and more descriptive than the ones we normally get from major companies :)
