I have a mildly fucked-up install of OS9 on one of my dual 1.8GHz G4 Quicksilver machines, and of course with a USB keyboard that has an eject button coupled with missing the appropriate USB Keyboard extensions, I cannot seem to get them easily. Is there a way to extract stuff from the installer? I cannot get this computer to boot from the OS9 installer CD either, yet the CDROM drive is fine.

Thanks

If you can mount the image in any way you could copy the data over to a HD.

I used to keep both OS9 and an emergency OS9 rescue environment as the first couple partitions on a FW HD back in the day. If you can get any OS9 system up and running you can clone the CD to a HD. I think I even used CCC last time for the cloning, managed to bless it and everything.

Finally got around to downloading that “Tome Viewer” application. Helped me out yesterday. I was able to extract the necessary files from the OS 9 installer CDROMs, then transfer them to a USB “thumb” drive, and then get the files to the computer. Pretty involved just for something so simple. But hey, this is all so I can play awesome-oh legacy games with my sons, so it’s worth it. :g3: :g4:
